125 Years of Storied Golf
Founded in 1893, The Victoria Golf Club is the second oldest golf course in North America. Originally, the course began as 14 holes but was quickly expanded in 1895. Over its history there have been at least three different course layouts as well. What many current members do not know is that the course used to be un-playable in the summer because it was left to grow hay for area livestock, meaning opening day was usually some time in November, which is why VGC's actual anniversary date is November 7.

Over our 125 years many rich stories have been written at VGC. From Ben Hogan's putt out of bounds to our new clubhouse burning down two days after it was built. It's these stories and more that we'll be regaling over the course of 2018 along with some amazing social and golf events to celebrate our 125 years as a golf club. We hope you can join us as we pay homage to our history as well as toast our bright future as the premier seaside links. It's going to be a great year at VGC. Let's party like it's 1893.
